The perfect festival website was created with Framer while maintaining Tomi Leppänen's minimalist visual style. The responsive structure of the subpages, Vimeo videos, and high-quality galleries support an impressive user experience. The site loads quickly (93/100 on mobile), ensuring excellent search engine visibility when searching for the artist's name, for example.

The festival website project progressed in its second phase from a teaser page to a complete festival website. The site was built on the Framer platform, allowing for a visually impressive, quickly loading, and easily maintainable entirety.

Graphic designer Tomi Leppänen was responsible for the visual design of the website, and it was my responsibility to implement the entire site technically along with its subpages. I particularly paid attention to the structure of the site, the functionality of visual elements on different devices, and performance.

The subpages utilized small, but thoughtfully considered hover effects, such as images appearing next to artists that add life to the user experience without overwhelming the visuals. Artist presentations were enriched with Vimeo video embeds, whose use allows for a controlled and professional video display in line with the festival brand.

The gallery was built as a responsive grid. Framer's automatic image compression ensures that images remain sharp but load quickly on all devices. This, combined with a technically lightweight built page, achieved an outstanding result: Google PageSpeed gave a score of 93 for mobile devices. This supports the site's search engine visibility – for example, using an artist's name and the festival combination, the site ranks well.

The project was completed on schedule and fulfilled all the festival organizer's wishes. The end result is a modern, responsive, and easily updatable website that embodies the brand's minimalist style and offers visitors a clear overview of everything related to the festival – from artists to tickets and practical information.

Process

The second phase of the festival website project began with the full site implementation using Framer. Graphic designer Tomi Leppänen was responsible for the visual design and provided detailed guidelines in PDF format. My task was to implement these designs responsively as a website and build the entire site structure with subpages – carefully maintaining the festival brand’s minimalist and modern appearance.

Specific requests for the site included deliberate hover effects, such as the appearance of artist images upon mouse movement. Videos were embedded on the pages via the Vimeo platform to achieve a controlled, professional look while preserving the controls and high image quality. The image gallery was built using Framer's grid component, which smoothly adjusts to different devices. Framer's automatic image optimization ensured a high-quality appearance without compromising performance.

The site’s performance was optimized from the very beginning. As a result, a score of 93 was achieved in Google PageSpeed's mobile metrics, significantly improving visibility in search engine results, for example, when searched by artist name.

Conclusions

Conclusion

The finished website was launched in spring 2025. It showcases all the content of the festival: artists, ticket information, the programme, and practical matters. Thanks to Framer, the site is visually striking, yet technically lightweight and very fast to use. The site works flawlessly on all devices and provides festival visitors with a seamless user experience. The main goal was to maintain the recognizable visual style of the festival brand and to provide the organisers with a modern platform that is easy to maintain and update for future years. The site not only sparks interest – it lives up to expectations.
